DSU Live, originally founded as “Friday Night Live”, was created both a means for students to experience live entertainment at Dakota State University, and a way for organization members to learn about live sound production in a real-world environment.
Dozens of events are hosted every year on campus, including a Battle of the Bands, “Gong” shows, Open Mic nights, Karaoke, a a Battle of the Bands, and musician showcases, to name a few.
We also provide technical sound and lighting assistance for various clubs and organizations on campus, such as the Student Activities Board and DSU2, the campus Diversity Organization.
The home base for DSU Live is located in the Underground of the Trojan Center on North Washington Avenue in Madison, SD. The venue features a state-of-the-art sound and lighting presentation for virtually any presentation needs.
New for 2011: The Underground is proud to have a brand new LED lighting system for an amazing light show with minimal power consumption. We also have an updated karaoke system with a much more current pop and rock music selection!
Parking is available and free on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays. The closest parking lot can be accessed from the entrance on NE 6th St.
If you are interested in booking a show or are a campus group or organization who needs technical assistance, please contact faculty advisor Nathan Edwards: nathan.edwards@dsu.edu
